Delegation - Why You’ve Got to Get Good at Delegating
The Fulling team has begun a new video lesson! Each week in our staff meetings, we watch a culture & leadership video to aid in our professional and personal development. We are currently watching the Delegation series from EntreLeadership. Follow along each week as we learn from leaders at EntreLeadership on how to master the art of delegation without guilt, stress or fear of losing control.
The first of the six lessons is led by the founder of EntreLeadership, Dave Ramsey. Ramsey begins the lesson by calling delegation, “one of the most misunderstood and abused areas of leadership.” While delegation is stressful when you start out, “it can be one of the most rewarding things in your business,” shares Ramsey, “and you can’t avoid it, even if you want to." He goes on to share that when he started his business he had to learn that his business would never grow bigger than his ability to delegate.
Delegation involves training, coaching and giving them more and more space to do what you are asking them to do. It will take time and patience but it will be worth it. Follow along with us each week to learn what to do and what not to do in order to master the art of delegation.
Food for thought…
What’s your biggest struggle with delegation?
Is it making time to train someone, giving up control, trusting everything will get done correctly and on time, guilt of asking for help, etc.?
