Healthy Habits – HAVE FUN!

The Fulling team is watching Healthy Habits by Marcus “Goodie” Goodloe. We recently started the first video session, Have Fun.

“We all want to see our dreams become a reality, but many of us don’t realize how our everyday habits are the key to either making progress or becoming stuck in a rut. So what can we do to identify and establish good habits while ridding ourselves of patterns that keep us from relationally, spiritually, and emotionally thriving? Join bestselling author Marcus ”Goodie“ Goodloe in this six-session series as he guides us through the six steps to achieving life-changing practices.”

-Your habits are already creating your future. Good habits improve our lives while bad habits halt our growth and can even hurt us.

-Practicing healthy habits can move us from mediocrity to greatness. One unexpected habit of greatness is prioritizing fun.  Many people overlook the idea of fun in work. We tend to think of fun as a distraction from “real work.” But fun releases serotonin and dopamine into our brains, making us more efficient at building habits and healthy rhythms.

-Fun is an essential piece of good work. It helps us relax, connect with others, and spark creativity. By integrating fun into our work and personal lives, we can become healthier, more well-rounded, and more productive people.

Goodie taught us that a good way to prioritize fun is to remain in the present. Yesterday is gone, and tomorrow isn’t promised. Having fun may force us to be more spontaneous, hold our plans more loosely, or be more willing to try new things. The habit of fun pushes us to make the most of each day.

Food for Thought

  1. What are some of the positive habits you practice? How have these habits benefitted you?

  2. What concerns, if any, do you have with trying to prioritize fun in your busy schedule?

  3. What habits or thoughts might be keeping you from experiencing fun more often? What is one thing you could do to make your workday more fun?
