Own Your Attitude and Effort</a> - Uncompromising Series
The Fulling team started a new staff meeting series! We are watching Uncompromising by Steven White.
“We all want to lead a life filled with purpose, success, and influence. But how do we chart the path to fulfillment? Where should we turn to find the life we all want? How do we leave a meaningful legacy?
In this 8-session series, keynote speaker and Comcast executive Steven White, will share his seven pathways to success, giving us a new approach to finding an impactful lifestyle of working, living, and being.”
Steven started out by reminding us that we are the CEO of our life—we oversee the decisions we make, the people we surround ourselves with, and the way we use our resources.
He encouraged us to have an owner’s mentality rather than a renter’s mentality. Our life is like a house—take ownership of it. Put effort into improving your life instead of passively waiting for your circumstances to change.
Life is full of ups and downs—success is determined by your ability to endure and keep progressing, regardless of your circumstances.
We are all limited by our perspective and blind spots—community helps us overcome those limitations and excel.
While we cannot determine our circumstances, we are in complete control of our response to our circumstances. If we are to find fulfillment, we must take uncompromising ownership of our attitudes and actions.
When it comes to controlling your response, you are your own greatest competition. Our impulses and emotions will often drive us to unhelpful responses. We must subdue our initial reactions so that we can respond beneficially.
We should choose to see all outcomes as winning or learning. Every “failure” is a learning opportunity, a chance to grow and improve.
Steven challenged us to feed the positive and starve the negative in our lives. He was not encouraging us to ignore serious issues, but to see the positive in every situation and hope for a better tomorrow.
So many great nuggets of wisdom came from these sessions!
