The Fulling team is watching Global Leadership Networks video on Trust by Henry Cloud.

Trust is the currency that drives every relationship. We are wired biologically, neurologically, emotionally, spiritually, and psychologically to trust. Join Dr. Henry Cloud to explore the five foundational aspects of trust that must be present in any relationship, team, business or ministry. Walk away with a model to know when to give trust, when to withhold it, how to earn it, and how to fix it when it gets broken.

(Beginning through 11:56)

Henry talked about Trust in relationships.  He listed the first 2 items in Trust include:

1) Understanding.  We trust someone when we feel like they understand us.  We need to listen first before giving an answer.

2) Motive.  We feel when someone is for us even if we’re not there.

In small groups, one group mentioned how building trust is the highest value of a relationship.  If you trust someone, you feel like their motive is pure.

We really place an emphasis on building trust with our clients and amongst our co-workers.  We feel we can advise better once we’ve earned our client’s trust.  Some ways to do this include listening, asking questions and seeking to understand.

Food for Thought

  1. What value do you place on trust in relationships with clients and coworkers?

  2. How can we start with listening when we are building trust with coworkers and clients?

  3. How does motive impact how you view someone’s actions?
